MODERN ARNIS REMY P. PRESAS INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATION

I personally think that it is important, and very beneficial, to have an understanding of the culture, language, and history, behind whatever art one is studying. Having a knowledge of where Modern Arnis came from, who Grandmaster Presas was, the Pilipino culture, and the language, makes me appreciate the art even more.

we will have more information related to Filipino culture here in the future. we are gratified that people have taken an interest in this area as it is very important to us here on MARPPIO to add context to the martial art by exposing as much about Filipino culture as we can.

with respect to this, we are looking into adding a few of these things to the site:

1.) an online dictionary/glossary of tagalog phrases
2.) a Wiki geared specifically for modern arnis and Filipino culture
3.) a bibliography of works related to Filipino culture
4.) a modified links page to include websites related to Filipino culture and descriptions of what they do

please understand that we are studying these technologies to ascertain which ones of these will work and be appropriate for our site. we have also discovered that there are a few sites on the Internet that already do the job of showcasing Filipino culture and instead of creating new technology that will essentially duplicate this, we will create links or do something else technologically that will lead our users to these sites.
